Media Industry Academy

Federal State Educational Establishment for Continuing Professional Education "Media Industry Academy" (former, until May, 2012, “Television and Radio Workers’ Institute for Advanced Studies”) is the only professional educational establishment in the corresponding industry. Over 60,000 specialists have retrained and improved their professional skills during the forty years of its existence.
The Academy staff are 56 lecturers, including 15 professors - doctors of science and 29 associate professors - candidates of science.
About a hundred lecturers involved in the academy study process are well-known practical workers in the field of electronic and print mass media, printing art and publishing industry.
The Academy has been providing training in 9 retraining programs and 12 professional development programs. To implement these programs there are 14 Departments and a Print Media Center in the Academy.
Media Industry Academy is not only an educational establishment, but also a major research center. Professional Academic Council is responsible for Candidate’s and Doctor’s dissertations for academic degrees in the field of "Journalism" (10.01.10) and "Film, TV and other screen arts" (17.00.03).
