Calrec announced its first foray into Russia with the sale of two Artemis Beams to Television Technical Centre Ostankino for NTV-PLUS. The 48 fader desks were installed into in the Moscow Television Centre and were used by NTV-PLUS for the Wimbledon tennis tournament in London this year.

Calrec has manufactured high quality production and live to air audio mixing consoles exclusively for live broadcast since 1971. Its reputation for build quality, long-term reliability and excellent audio performance has made its consoles the benchmark for broadcast facilities across the world. Calrec has consistently pushed technology barriers, earning an outstanding reputation for innovation, with a history of technological world firsts:

1977 Calrec supplies the world’s first stereo broadcast console.
1978 Calrec launches the Soundfield microphone, the world’s first single point-source microphone.
1981 Calrec supplies the word’s first digitally controlled assignable mixing console.
2007 Calrec launches Bluefin
2009 Calrec unveils Bluefin2

Bluefin provided vastly superior levels of signal processing in a fraction of the space of conventional systems, and was the world's first implementation of Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technology for full DSP processing, providing enough processing on one DSP card to power an entire mixing console running surround-sound productions.

Calrec’s Apollo and Artemis consoles, with colour displays and colour-changing rotary controls, also have a more powerful Hydra2 and Bluefin2 core, with up to 1020 channel processing paths, 128 program busses, 96 IFB/track outputs, and 48 auxiliaries.

Calrec provide a range of digital consoles in the Apollo, Artemis, Alpha, Sigma and Omega consoles, alongside Hydra networking. Hydra and Hydra2 continue to provide a solution for sharing network I/O resources and control data between Calrec digital mixing consoles.

Its expertise, experience and technology is trusted and endorsed by the world’s most successful broadcasters. For putting sound in the picture, broadcasters trust in Calrec.
